Described as, “a charming and funny space-based story about the power of friendship and memory” (amazon.com), Molly Webster’s children’s book, “Little Black Hole” blends a playful story with real facts about black holes.
In September, Molly visited students at South Salem Elementary as part of a Newton Education Foundation partnership with the Ideas Festival – Emory. Thanks to community donations and participation in the Peach Tax Credit program, every student at Molly’s presentation got to take home a free copy of her book.
Author visits get students excited about books and reading and help young learners see themselves as readers and writers. They are part of a larger NEF strategy to promote literacy which includes training K and 1st grade teachers in structured literacy.
