Last Spring, Eastside High School Theater teacher Kennedy Lynn requested funds for a wonderful project she called, “Curtain Call Companions”.  Her idea was to create an inclusive theater program that would integrate autistic. neurodivergent and neurotypical students together in a production.

This inclusive approach includes a special sensory-friendly performance which allows students and community members who may experience a sensory disorder or specific sensitivity to have a special show that is comfortable for them.

The theater students created a great video to explain what a sensory-friendly performance is.  Just click on the photo to view it. We are delighted to have funded this thoughtful project which allows everyone to access the theater experience.

Donations made to NEF fund great, teacher-driven projects that create a culture of inclusion at schools across the county.  Donate at newtoneducationfoundation.org/donate or check out our business sponsorships at newtoneducationfoundation.org/business
