Kerrie Carlile teachers Forensic Science at Newton High School, which shows students how scientific methods are used to investigate crimes and analyze evidence.  She wanted her students to be able to use advanced technology to analyze trace evidence like hair and fibers, and knew digital microscopes would level up their learning.

Ms. Carlile shared why this equipment is so important.  “Digital microscopes enhance student learning by providing high-resolution, interactive visuals that make microscopic details more accessible and engaging. They allow for real-time exploration, collaboration, and the ability to capture and analyze images, fostering a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. By adding them to our classroom, our students now have hands on experiences to be able use modern technology to experience science in a fun and exciting way.”

The microscopes will also be available for use in other science classes.

The Newton Education Foundation puts community resources to work for our kids so they can achieve academic and personal success. We do this by providing funds that help our schools remove obstacles, provide great educational opportunities that deepen learning and support teachers in meeting the learning needs of all kids.

Consider making a gift, of any amount, so that more students can use the latest tools for learning. www.newtoneducationfoundation.org/donate
