The Newton Education Foundation Teacher Innovation Grant (TIG) program is designed to support teachers by providing funds that allow them to enhance learning for their students. This can take many forms including (but not limited to): purchasing equipment for the classroom, meeting the specific learning needs of a small group of students, providing students with a culminating activity to highlight learning – the ideas are limited only by a teacher’s creativity! Within this basic framework, NEF will consider a broad range of requests.TIG funds can provide seed money for a project that will be ongoing but is not intended to provide repeat funding for multiple years. Our grant awards will range from $300 – $3,000. School-based personnel must have the support of their principal.

IMPORTANT: In addition to regular grant funds, additional funds are available specifically for the creation of improvement of school gardens or projects related to agriculture. These funds are part of a USDA grant that NEF received to expand Newton County Schools Farm-to-School efforts.

TIMELINE: Grant deadline: Friday, March 7, 2025 by 5pm.  Funds are for projects that will take place in late Spring 2025 or Fall 2025.
