Tami Wells Thomas, born and raised in Decatur, Georgia has called Newton County home since 2006. She is a graduate of Denison University and the University of Tennessee where she earned her degree in law. She currently teaches Criminal Justice at Georgia State University Perimeter College, Newton campus where she serves as Curriculum Chair for the Criminal Justice Department. Judge Thomas, has served as an Associate Judge for the Newton County Magistrate Court since 2019. She is a member of the East Suburban Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, and numerous other civic and professional organizations. Judge Wells Thomas is a servant leader, and she and her husband Mark, strive to instill these same qualities in their children Nathan and Grace.
