Coffee. That amazing beverage that starts our mornings. For many teachers, coffee is a non-negotiable part of their day. Leah Johnson, a special education support teacher, had the idea of providing coffee to staff while teaching her students important life skills. She wrote a grant proposal to fund start-up costs for a coffee cart that her students could manage.
The Coffee Cart had its grand opening one Friday in September and it was a big hit. Teachers loved getting served coffee by these entrepreneurial students. We have no doubt this cart will become a fixture at Mansfield.
Leah Johnson shared “I am incredibly grateful to the Newton Education Foundation and all the people who have donated for this awesome opportunity!”
This grant, and every grant funded by The Newton Education Foundation, is the result of donations from our community.
